When musicians and businesses rally together for a cause, we can do great things! A huge thank you to the Tapscott's for donating their space toward this cause, and to all of the musicians who showed up that night, including a last minute performance from Marcus Brown. What happened? Well, sadly, in February '26 this year, a local woman lost her life to a car accident, leaving behind a 1.5 year old baby named Bo. These unfortunate circumstances left their surviving family not only in grief, but also in need of support for her memorial , as other funds were directed toward the baby. Sweet Market and a group of songwriters were able to pull together for a night of stories and turn taking on guitars. The community gave generously through cash offerings to a growler passed around, a QR posted, and even a taco truck donating 15% of the evening sales toward this cause. Our prayers are with the Ayers family continually.
In March 2026, I began hosting open mic, locally in Springfield, at Sweet Market on Main. The first two tuesday's of the month dedicated evenings to local talent!
